Picture of Capybara In Bathtub
Bath Ritual
Capybaras are animals that wash in water. They are very good swimmers and can stay underwater for several minutes at a time. When they wash, they dip their head under water to clean their eyes, ears and nose with their muzzle. Then they rub their fur against rocks or aquatic plants to remove dirt and parasites. Once they have finished cleaning themselves, they return to shore and shake their bodies vigorously to remove all traces of moisture before returning to land.
