Bath Ritual
Groundhogs wash themselves by rolling in the dirt and spraying themselves with water. They then create a mud bath by wiggling their legs to mix the water and soil. This mud is used as an exfoliant to remove impurities, parasites and debris that are stuck to their skin. Once the groundhog is satisfied with its bath, it rolls in grass or leaves to dry its fur.
