Picture of Yuanyang Terraced Fields Summer

Summer had arrived and with it there was some excitement in the air. This year, Marie and her friends decided to go on a trip to Yuanyang, China. They were all very eager to see the rice terraces that the place is famous for.




Once they arrived in Yuanyang, the group was struck by the beauty of the landscapes. The rolling hills covered in rice paddies were a spectacular sight and the bright colors of the sun reflected in the shimmer of the calm waters that lapped the fields. It was all so beautiful that they stood frozen in place for several minutes before resuming their walk towards the stairs leading to heaven – the Yuanyang Rice Terraces – where they could admire the view even closer.




The steps seemed never to end and each step brought a new surprise: a village surrounded by a shimmering lake, mountains covered with green trees and varied cultures that formed a multicolored patchwork around the group as they climbed ever higher. . Finally, after a long climb, they reached the top and were rewarded with what Marie called “the most beautiful view I have ever seen”. The panorama was magnificent; the terraces stretched as far as the eye could see and offered a unique perspective on the Chinese countryside.


The group spent several hours there admiring the nature around them and then slowly descended the steps to return to their hotel at the end of the afternoon with a feeling of intimate peace accompanied by this image engraved forever in their memory: Yuanyang Terraces - Stairs to Heaven.
