Hiroki Kobayashi is a young man who lives in Japan in the late 1940s. He feels like an outsider among the rest, partly because of his atypical physique - he has the head and wings of a heron. Despite this, Hiroki is very intelligent and works hard to succeed in his studies. One day, he discovers that he has magical powers that allow him to communicate with animals and understand their needs. With the help of his new friends, Hiroki begins to explore the magical world behind his hometown. But as his mission grows, he must face an evil force that threatens not only his country but also the rest of the world. Once again, Hiroki uses his powers to protect those he loves and stand up for what he believes is right.
