Night Walk

Akram Shaféa was walking through the streets of Cairo in the pouring rain, along the ancient and majestic pyramids of Cheops. He breathed in deeply the cool, pure air that filled his lungs. There was something magical about the night, as if it was hiding secrets to which only Akram knew the key.


He then decided to make a detour to one of the most emblematic places in the city: Tahrir Square. At this late hour, there weren't many people around, just a few lost tourists taking photos against the light and looking at the monuments illuminated by the street lamps. Raindrops glistened on the marble floor, creating a mesmerizing and captivating sight for Akram. He walked slowly between the stone columns until he came to the center of the square where he stopped to admire the night panorama: he was surrounded by the towers of the Nile Hilton Hotel, the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities and of course the Great Pyramid which proudly dominated this small world with its imposing and mystical silhouette.


Standing there in front of this immense historical monument, Akram felt privileged to have been able to breathe this fresh air which seemed to come directly from the past millennia to flatter his face soaked by the rain. It was definitely worth going out despite the storm!
