Night Walk

Efstratios Eleftheriadis walked slowly through the streets of Athens, under the downpour which fell relentlessly. That night was particularly humid and the gray sky didn't leave much room for daylight. He felt good walking the familiar streets, he loved that feeling of familiarity he felt here.

He stopped in front of an emblematic monument of the city, the Acropolis. He looked at the large building with admiration and remembered that this place was known to be a sacred place for ancient and modern Greeks. Efstratios smiled as he thought of all the stories he had heard about this mythical place over the years and continued his night walk.

He passed lively restaurants where people were eating together and chatting happily, then he finally arrived at his destination: at his parents'. He had come to visit them after several months of absence and he was happy to be able to spend time with them after such a long time away from them. The rain had stopped but Efstratios was still savoring every minute of his nocturnal stroll around the city that reminded him so much of his warm and welcoming home.
