Night Time Story

Once upon a time there was a young man named Omar. He went to the mosque to pray at sunset. It was one of the most beautiful mosques he had ever seen, with beautifully frescoed walls and perfectly carved and polished columns.


Omar knelt on the prayer rug and closed his eyes, invoking peace and love in his heart. As he prayed, he felt someone gently touch his shoulder. When he opened his eyes, he saw in front of him an old man with white hair who was looking at him kindly.


The old man smiled at Omar and began to speak: "I see that you have come here to find inner peace, my son." Omar nodded in approval because he couldn't speak his throat was tight with emotion. The old man continued, "I've come here every night for over 50 years to find my own inner peace." He then told Omar to follow him to a special place behind the wall of the mosque where there were aromatic plants whose soothing smell immediately comforted the young man. There, seated on a stone bench worn by the years, the old man told Omar how he had learned to find his inner calm thanks to the powerful words of God contained in this sacred place.


When the sun had finished its daily journey behind the horizon, Omar warmly thanked the old man for this priceless gift before returning home filled with new wisdom and filled with the deep feeling that everything was going to be fine now no matter what happened.
