Picture of Waterfall Ukiyo-e

Origin Story

Once upon a time, a young artist named Hokusai had a dream of becoming Japan's greatest painter. He began to travel his country and explore the magnificent natural landscapes he found along the way. One day, while traveling in the mountainous region of Kiso Valley, he came across the spectacular sight of a majestic waterfall flowing between rocks and green trees. He was so dazzled by this spectacle that he decided to capture this beauty on canvas.

Hokusai spent days working on his canvas, capturing every nuance and movement of the water with incredible precision. Once his painting was completed, he looked at his work with pride: it represented not only the exact image of the waterfall from which he was inspired but also all his passion for the beautiful and the sublime. This work soon became known as Ukiyo-e Waterfall and is considered one of the most famous masterpieces by Japanese painter Hokusai.
