Matilde Morelli, a young Italian woman living in ancient Rome, is a passionate and talented artist. She dreams of becoming one of the great glories of the Colosseum. Unfortunately, her father was killed by the Romans and she finds herself alone to support her family. Determined to succeed, Matilde decides to find a way to enter the Colosseum and begins to work hard to achieve it.


As she progresses rapidly in her studies, Matilde meets a wealthy Roman patrician who falls in love with her and offers her everything she needs to enter the Colosseum. However, their romance is soon cut short by the jealousy of the other contestants who will do anything they can to prevent Matilde from achieving her dream. Despite this, she continues to persist and eventually reaches the highest level of the Colosseum thanks to her unwavering willpower and exceptional talent.
