There was a time when St. Peter's Basilica in Rome was one of the most beautiful monuments in the city. In summer, tourists and pilgrims flocked to admire its magnificent mosaics and sculptures. Visitors were always impressed by the grandeur of the place and the feeling of sacred spirit that reigned there.


That summer, a young woman decided to visit the basilica. She had heard it was a magical place with fascinating stories to tell visitors. She was immediately captivated by the spiritual atmosphere that reigned within the walls of the monument. She spent several hours looking at the frescoes and sculptures, trying to imagine what their creator had wanted to express with his art.


After her long visit, she sat on a bench near the main entrance to enjoy the warm rays of the sun that flooded the holy place. As she closed her eyes savoring this peaceful moment, she felt a presence behind her and turned to see an elderly man standing in front of her with a sad but calm look on his time-wrinkled face. He began to tell her the whole history of this basilica: how he had studied here in the past, how he had been part of a religious community, some of whose members had come here every year to pray... His story deeply touched the young woman who remained silent until he ended his speech by saying, “This place is so special…I feel at home here”. The young woman then understood that this man really loved this basilica as much as she herself had just discovered.
