Winter Story

Once upon a time there was a young man named Peter who dreamed of visiting St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. One day, he decided it was time for him to fulfill his dream and so set out on a journey to the Eternal City. Once there, he visited all the historical and tourist sites, but what fascinated him the most was Saint Peter's Basilica. He entered the basilica and was struck by its grandeur. The walls were covered with religious icons, the floors covered with beautiful mosaics and the ceilings adorned with incredible works of art. However, in winter, it seemed almost empty and silent, as if waiting for someone or something.


As Peter walked around the massive columns, he noticed a small boy sitting on one of the pews near the back of the basilica. He approached slowly so as not to frighten the boy and sat down next to him on the icy bench. The boy then turned to Pierre with a sad but calm look and then whispered: “I came here to find my father”. Without saying a word, Pierre immediately understood what the boy meant and put his hand on his shoulder to comfort him. They sat together for a long time without saying anything until finally Peter asked the little boy, "What exactly are you looking for?" The boy then sighed deeply before replying, "I'm looking for God."


Pierre then smiled tenderly at the little boy then explained to him that God is everywhere around us if we take the time to look attentively at all the beautiful things that surround us every day; like the rays of the sun crossing the colored stained glass windows or the songs of the birds which are always present despite the harsh winter... And it was then that all the hopes came back little by little in the eyes of the young boy because he now knew that God was always with him no matter what.
