Origin Story

Once upon a time there was a young man named Hiroshige who had always dreamed of visiting the mythical Empire State Building. So he decided to go on a trip to New York and admire the impressive skyscraper. Once there, he was amazed by the beauty of the building and its multiple towers. He spent several hours observing the building and taking photos to keep a memorable memory of his visit.

However, what Hiroshige didn't know was that he was good at drawing and was going to create an ukiyo-e (a Japanese painting or print) of the Empire State Building. After taking all the necessary measures to obtain as realistic an image as possible, he set to work for several weeks to create his masterpiece. When he finished his painting, he was very proud of the result and sent his ukiyo-e to all his friends so that they could admire his work.

Every year since then, Hiroshige has returned to New York to see the Empire State Building and remember the magical moment when he created his ukiyo-e which is now known around the world as the ultimate artistic representation of this magnificent New York skyscrapers!
