Meeting

Leonardo da Vinci was a very curious and eager to learn man. He traveled the world to discover new and interesting things. One day, while he was walking in the mountains, he saw a figure looming in front of him. This person turned out to be U. Amin-Erdene, a former tribal leader who had lived in these lands for centuries.


Leonardo was intrigued by this man and his culture so different from his own and so he decided to stay with him for several days to learn more about his life and his people. U. Amin-Erdene willingly shared his knowledge with Leonardo, teaching him everything he knew about nature, animals, and local philosophy. In exchange, Leonardo shared with U. Amin-Erdene his own innovative ideas on various scientific and artistic subjects which were totally unknown to the Montagnard until then.


The two men spent a lot of time together discussing and sharing their respective knowledge until Leonardo had to return home after several weeks spent together in the remote mountains where U.Amin-Erdene lived. Before he left, he presented the Montagnard with a canvas depicting a local landscape he had painted during his stay as tangible proof of the time they had spent together. The years passed but each time Leonardo thought of U.Amin-Erdene, he would recover at the same time in front of his canvas, realized thanks to the magic moments they had spent together.
