Biography

Xavier Brun was a male elephant born on 05/02/1769 in France and died on 24/09/1810. His main value was honesty.


From an early age, Xavier was always very ambitious and always dreamed of meeting Napoleon Bonaparte. So, at the age of 20, he decided to leave his small hometown to go to Paris to fulfill his dream. He finally arrived in Paris in 1789 and found employment there in the services of the First Consul. It was then that Xavier entered Napoleon Bonaparte's army where he quickly became Lieutenant-Colonel thanks to his exceptional skills in military tactics and the respect he had earned from other soldiers.


In 1807, Xavier participated in the Campaign of Portugal led by Napoleon Bonaparte which aimed to conquer this neighboring country. During this campaign, Xavier distinguished himself by his bravery and his tenacity which impressed all his fellow soldiers as well as the senior officers including the First Consul himself. An anecdote tells that during a particularly bloody battle against the Portuguese forces, Xavier was wounded but stubbornly refused to give up the fight despite the intense pain he felt: this inspired the other soldiers present on the battlefield so much that they finally won the victory!


This glorious participation in the fighting allowed Xavier Brun to increase even more the confidence that Napoleon had placed in him and thus served as a major turning point for his military career since he ended up reaching the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel shortly after this heroic event!
