Intrigued, Torii approached and saw that this ukiyo-e depicted a snowy landscape with mountains and forests covered in glistening snow. The little girl turned to him and asked him if this picture had been painted by her father.

Torii replied that yes, it was he who had painted this magnificent painting and he was surprised to see how much his creation touched the little girl. She thanked him warmly for his contribution to the beauty of the village and left with the painting under her arm clasped against her as if it were her most precious possession.

Since that day, Torii has always remained faithful to his art and continues to offer the people of the village works full of magic such as this one: an ukiyo-e depicting a snowy landscape with mountains and forests covered with sparkling snow…
