Picture of Montain Ukiyo-e

Origin Story

Once upon a time there was a young artist named Toshusai. He was very good at drawing and had a real passion for mountain landscapes. One day, he decided to venture into the mountains and create an ukiyo-e (traditional Japanese image) representing what he saw.

Toshusai began his journey by slowly climbing the steep slopes of the mountain. He marveled at the beauty of the snow-capped peaks, sparkling waterfalls and lush forests that surrounded him. As he progressed, he took notes on everything he saw so he could reproduce it later on his canvas.

After several hours of exploring, Toshusai finally found a place to stop and paint his picture. He immediately set to work, carefully adding every detail: the trees with shimmering leaves, the rocks covered in green moss, and the wildflowers that dotted the landscape. Satisfied with the result, he signed his masterpiece “Mountain” and set out on his way back to civilization.

A few years later, when Toshusai was asked if this ukiyo-e was inspired by a real place or a personal memory, he could only smile: "This image is based on my personal experience", he explained. he proudly "Hope this inspires a lot of other people to go on an adventure!" »
