Omran Adan is a bulldog who lives in a town in the Midwest in the 1950s. He is the only animal to have survived the great flood of the city and he has no owner. One day, while wandering the streets, he meets a lonely and troubled young man named Richard. Richard immediately recognizes Omran's exceptional intelligence and protective instinct. The two then begin an unlikely but deep friendship as Richard tries to find his place in the world and Omran shows extraordinary courage to protect his friend against malevolent forces that seek to harm them.
