Autumn Story

Once upon a time there was a young man named Tom. Tom was looking for a place to find the calm and inner peace he had been looking for for so long. He had heard of a Zen Buddhist temple located not far from his home, so he decided to look for it.


Tom arrived at the Temple just in time to attend a class on meditation given by the local abbess. He was immediately absorbed by the calm and the beauty of the place; the orange-red colors of the autumn leaves falling gently around the temple, the songs of the birds answering each other, and the soothing silence of all who were present.


Tom spent several hours meditating with the abbess and her disciples, learning how to be in harmony with himself and the outside world. As the days went by, he felt that his mind was gradually freeing itself from its old harmful thoughts; he began to see things differently and understood that each moment is unique and presentable in itself.


So Tom returned home with a new outlook on life: calmer, more self-centered, more aware of the things that really matter to him. And every fall since that day, Tom returns to the Zen Buddhist Temple to rediscover that unforgettable feeling of inner peace that he found there...
