Autumn Story

Autumn had arrived and with it a cool breeze blowing across the rural landscape. The days were still long and sunny, but night was falling earlier and the nights were getting colder and colder. Fields were covered in rust and gold, farmland stretched as far as the eye could see, and pastures dotted the landscape. The dark forests were home to migrating birds preparing for their journey to warmer climes.


Small farms dotted the landscape, some abandoned by families who once settled there to grow food crops or raise livestock. On these farms there were still a few animals: pigs, cows, horses and even a donkey or two. Farmers worked hard to harvest what the land had to offer before winter set in.


The small villages were bustling with activity during this fall season; people everywhere were seen shopping at the local market to buy fresh produce harvested by local farmers, picking fruit and vegetables from the nearby orchards or collecting dead wood for the chimney fire that would warm every house during the cold season in come. We could also hear a lot of happy laughter coming from the happy inhabitants who were taking full advantage of this beautiful season before winter took over the rural landscape…
