Some believed he was a divine sign sent to bring peace and prosperity to Japan; others thought he was a mythical creature who had come from another world to revolutionize the Japanese cultural landscape. Whatever the true nature of the Tokyo rhinoceros, it will always remain a mystical and unique presence on the streets of Japan.
