Picture of Wolf Ukiyo-e
Origin Story
Once upon a time there was a wolf who lived in the mountains of Japan. His name was Hiroshige and he was very brave and intelligent. One day, while he was walking in the forest, he saw a small village on the hillside. He approached to see what it was and was amazed by the landscape and the beauty of the buildings.
Hiroshige then decided to stay for a few days to explore the village and learn more about the people who lived there. While there, he met a local artist named Shiro, who taught him everything he knew about Ukiyo-e art (literally "pictures of the floating world"). Fascinated by this traditional Japanese painting technique, Hiroshige asked Shiro if he could make an ukiyo-e representing a wolf like him. The next morning, Shiro had finished his work: a magnificent ukiyo-e titled "Wolf"!
Since that day, Hiroshige has always carried his ukiyo-e close to his heart as a constant reminder of the times spent in the small Japanese village and the strong bonds created between him and Shiro through their shared passion for Ukiyo-e painting.
