Origin Story

Haruka Ekoda was a young woman who lived in Edo, Japan. She was very beautiful and had a great interest in art, especially ukiyo-e painting. One day, she decided to go to the famous artist Toshusai Sharaku to ask him to paint her portrait.

Sharaku agreed and immediately began working on Haruka's portrait. He spent hours perfecting every detail and finally managed to create a masterpiece: an ukiyo-e titled “Haruka Ekoda”. It featured Haruka depicted as a hummingbird flying freely through a lush garden filled with colorful flowers. Her striking beauty immediately captivated all who looked at her.

Ukiyo-e soon became very popular with art collectors around the world and was considered one of the finest works Sharaku ever made. For Haruka, this image symbolized her freedom and joy of living; she savored every moment she spent with her family and friends, regardless of social conventions or prejudices that might exist around her. The ukiyo-e "Haruka Ekoda" remained a symbol of freedom for future generations and still continues to inspire those who see it today.
