Origin Story

A young man named Akio was a talented artist who loved drawing horses. He spent most of his time painting and learning about the different techniques and styles of ukiyo-e, a popular Japanese art form. One day, he decided to concentrate on the ukiyo-e style and its equestrian representations.


Akio worked hard to create a beautiful horse ukiyo-e. He took care of every detail so that the portrait was perfectly realized. Once he was done, he was very happy with the result and decided to send his canvas to Keisai, a famous painter known for his works with equestrian themes.


A few weeks later, Akio received a letter from the master: Keisai had seen his canvas and was impressed with the work he had done! He invited Akio to visit his workshop so that they could discuss more in-depth about ukiyo-e and its equestrian representations. Akio immediately accepted the invitation and therefore went to Keisai's with enthusiasm.


Once she arrived at the studio, Akio was struck by the beauty of the paintings that adorned the walls: it was as if she could feel the passion behind each piece! As Keisai explained to Akio how he made some particularly intricate pieces, she realized that it's not just by following instructions in a book that you become a great ukiyo-e artist – it takes a lot of time and patience. ! She then promised herself that she would continue to improve her ukiyo-e skills so that one day she could produce works as incredible as those exhibited here…
