Picture of Sharpei Ukiyo-e

Origin Story

Once upon a time there was a Sharpei named Toshusai. He lived in a small house with his owner, a painter who adored him. Every day, the painter spent hours drawing Toshusai and creating beautiful ukiyo-e to share his beauty with the world.

Toshusai adored the painter's company and appreciated when he took the time to give her hugs and caresses. He also liked to sit on the painter's lap while he worked, which would allow him to feel closer to him.

One day, the painter decided that this special relationship should be immortalized by a work of art: an ukiyo-e representing Toshusai. The result was spectacular! The vibrant colors captured Toshusai's gentleness and kindness while the fine lines emphasized his nobility and dignity. The canvas was so beautiful that it inspired many people around the world.

This ukiyo-e is still on display today as a tribute to the Sharpei named Toshusai who inspired so many with his unconditional love for his owner and exceptional artistry.
