Picture of Pit bull Ukiyo-e

Origin Story

Once upon a time there was a pit bull named Hiroshige. He lived on the streets of Tokyo and was much loved by the locals. Every day he happily ran through the city greeting everyone he passed with his tail filled with enthusiasm. One day, while he was taking a leisurely walk, he saw an artist painting a beautiful ukiyo-e on the wall of a house. Hiroshige stopped to admire the artwork and was immediately captivated by the beauty of the colors and shapes used to depict his face. The painter also noticed the dog and decided to capture this magical moment on canvas: he then created an ukiyo-e of Pitbull representing Hiroshige in the middle of the painting. Locals were enchanted by the work and it quickly became famous all over Tokyo thanks to its unique and inimitable beauty. Even today, copies of this ukiyo-e can be found all over town, reminding people that even animals have a place in our world!
