Biography

Hǎo Níng was a Chinese astronaut born on March 25, 1951. She grew up in Beijing and started her career as a spaceflight scientist. In 1981, she became the first Chinese woman to be sent into space, aboard the Shenzhou-1 space station. This mission allowed him to carry out several scientific and technological experiments important for the development of the Chinese space program.


In 1985, Hǎo Níng returned to space for another very ambitious mission: an orbital flight around the Earth for three days. During this mission, she carried out astronomical observations and medical tests that contributed to the development of the Chinese space program.


Hǎo Níng died on July 31, 2005 after serving her country for 24 years in spaceflight. His memory will forever live on among Chinese astronauts who are inspired by his unwavering courage and determination in the face of the toughest challenges.
