Biography

Prokhor Romanovitch Ignatiev was a Russian cosmonaut born on May 31, 1975. He was nicknamed "the Dinosaur" because of his large size and physical strength. He grew up in a modest family in Moscow, where he developed his love for space and interstellar travel.


After years of intensive training, Prokhor became the first Russian cosmonaut to be sent into space in 1998. During his space missions, he carried out several scientific experiments and explorations on the Mir space station and on the International Space Station (ISS ). His work has contributed to the understanding of human behavior in space and to technological advances that have enabled longer and safer spaceflight.


In 2003, Prokhor returned to Earth after spending five years in orbit around the blue planet. After that, he returned to Moscow where he continued to work as an engineer for the Russian Space Program until he finally decided to retire in 2014. Unfortunately, soon after his retirement, Prokhor tragically died on the 23 January 2015 following an unexpected heart attack while at home. His contribution to the space field will always be recognized by people around the world and his living tribute will remain eternally engraved in our morals.
