Night Walk

Ten-year-old bulldog Barkat Chikder was walking the streets of Dhaka on a rainy night. He had come to town to see his parents and he had decided to take advantage of his time in Dhaka to explore the city.


He began his walk by the Grand Bazaar which is one of the emblematic sites of the city. He admired the shimmering colors of the fabrics and jewelry sold there, and the tantalizing smells of the fresh food on offer. The people around him didn't notice Barkat Chikder because they were too busy chatting with each other and buying what they needed.


After the Grand Bazaar, Barkat Chikder headed towards the Buriganga River which crosses the city and offers the inhabitants a magnificent panorama of its winding banks. The rain falling gently on his white coat gave Barkat Chikder a soothing feeling as he walked along the river. He watched in awe as the traditional boats cruised the calm waters as the birds sang happily above his head.


Finally, after exploring Dhaka for several hours, Barkat Chikder returned to his parents' house to spend the night in a warm and dry place.
