Soldier Story

René Dupont was a young man from Paris. He had always dreamed of going to the army and serving his country. So, at 18, he enlisted as a soldier in the French navy.


He spent the first few weeks learning the basics of weapons and military techniques. He was working hard to be ready for his first mission at sea. René was very motivated and enthusiastic about the idea of being able to serve his country.


After several months of training, René was finally able to go to sea on the ship he was going to command. At first everything went well but shortly after their arrival they were attacked by a hostile fleet which threatened French peace and maritime sovereignty. The ship's men fought bravely but unfortunately they lost the battle and René was captured by the enemy.


The years that followed were difficult for René because he became a prisoner of war in a camp where the conditions were very difficult and where he was subjected to forced labor day after day relentlessly. Fortunately, after several years of imprisonment, when no one thought he would come out of the camp alive, Ren é finally managed to escape thanks to the contacts he had managed to make with some local inhabitants who gave him shelter. temporarily until help arrives. The return home was long but joyous as it meant seeing his beloved family and friends after so many years away from home.


Once he returned home, Ren é was able to resume a normal life, but not without retaining an indelible memory of his captivity. His unparalleled bravery and determination during this perilous mission led the French government to officially recognize his courage by awarding him the military medal for exceptional service.
