Picture of Panda In Its Natural Environment
Description Of The Environment
The giant panda is an animal that lives mainly in the mountainous and humid forests of the provinces of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu in China. It feeds mainly on bamboo, but it can also eat small mammals, birds, insects and sometimes even young leaves and branches of trees. The panda likes to live at high altitude (between 1,500 and 3,000 m) where it finds its natural habitat: a dense forest made up of pines, cypresses and bamboos. The temperature varies between -10°C and 25°C. Rainfall is abundant during the summer (about 1,000 mm per year), allowing the bamboos to thrive.
