Description Of The Environment

The Snow Leopard is a feline that lives in the mountainous and snowy regions of the Himalayas, Tibet and northwest China. It is characterized by its white or silver fur with black or brown spots. Their natural habitat is coniferous forests, alpine meadows, rocky steppes and semi-arid habitats. They are also known for their exceptional abilities to climb trees and scale steep rock faces. Snow leopards need a varied habitat to be able to effectively hunt their prey (boars, marmots, hares) and hide from larger predators such as brown bears and Himalayan wolves.
