Picture of Crocodile In Its Natural Environment
Description Of The Environment
The crocodile is an animal that lives in various aquatic environments, such as rivers, lakes, swamps and even the sea. Crocodiles are adapted to these environments with their large eyes to see clearly underwater and their thick fur which protects their skin from the intense heat of the sun. They feed mainly on fish, reptiles and aquatic invertebrates, but they can also eat terrestrial or flying mammals if given the opportunity. Crocodiles need a quiet place to rest and lay their eggs; they therefore often build nests on the banks of rivers or on islands in lakes.
