Picture of Zebra In Its Natural Environment
Description Of The Environment
The zebra lives in the grassy and arid plains of East and South Africa. They are usually associated with groups of wildebeest, antelope and other wild animals. Zebras feed mainly on grasses, but they can also consume fruits, leaves and roots. They live in herds that can number up to several hundred individuals led by a dominant male leader. Females stay with their group throughout their life while males leave their herd after adolescence to form a new group or join an existing one. Zebras are highly mobile and can travel great distances to find food or avoid predators.
