Description Of The Environment
The giraffe lives in the savannahs and arid plains of the African continent. They are mainly located in East Africa and Southern Africa. Giraffes travel relatively short distances, but they can travel miles to find food or suitable shelter. Their natural environment is made up of acacias, baobabs, thorny bushes and short grass. Giraffes usually gather in small family groups consisting of a female and her young as well as a dominant male who protects the group from predators such as lions, leopards and hyenas.
