Picture of Rhinoceros In Its Natural Environment
Description Of The Environment
The Rhinoceros lives in a variety of natural environments, such as savannahs, tropical and subtropical forests and marshes. They need large spaces to roam freely and are very sensitive to habitat destruction. Rhinos mainly live in parts of South Africa, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Some habitats can be very rich in fresh grass and provide an abundance of edible fruits such as wild berries or edible roots. Other habitats include wooded areas with sandy or clay soil that is often flooded during the wet season. Rhinos may also find refuge in reservoirs where they can bathe to cool off in hot weather or drink water when needed.
