Description Of The Environment
Elephants are land animals that live in tropical and subtropical regions. They are mainly found in Africa, but they also exist in Asia. Elephants prefer areas where water is plentiful and easily accessible, such as humid forests, tree savannahs and alluvial plains. They are usually active during the day and spend their nights sleeping in shady places such as bushes or trees. Elephants need large amounts of food to survive; they mainly consume grass, leaves, fruits and roots.
