Biography

Vorobyova Anfisa Maximovna the Whale was a Russian astronaut born on November 1, 1978. She grew up in a very scientific environment and was interested in space and space science from an early age. After graduating in physics, she joined the Russian Federation of Cosmonauts in 1997 and began training to become an astronaut.


Anfisa the Whale became one of the first Russian astronauts to travel into space. In 2003, she left for her first mission to the International Space Station where she carried out various scientific and experimental work for three months. She also participated in the Apollo-Soyuz mission which marked 30 years of the first friendly flight between the United States and the Soviet Union. During this mission, Anfisa the Whale showed great bravery and determination as she faced the extreme conditions of deep space.


Unfortunately, Vorobyova Anfisa Maximovna the Whale died accidentally during a mission in 2008 while still in space. His remarkable contribution to space science will never be forgotten by those who had the good fortune to work alongside Anfisa the Whale during his exceptional career as an astronaut.
