Biography

Ayoub Poncelet was a fox born on March 18, 1766 in Belgium. He grew up in a loving and warm family, which instilled in him the values of kindness that he would adopt throughout his life.


In 1789, at age 23, Ayoub decided to leave his country for France in order to find a better opportunity and a more promising future. Once in Paris, he enlisted in the French army under the command of General Napoleon Bonaparte.


During his military career, Ayoub distinguished himself by his courage and bravery, which enabled him to be promoted to Sergeant-Major in 1804. In 1807, he took part in the Battle of Friedland where he showed himself to be particularly valiant against the Russian forces. His bravery was noticed by Napoleon Bonaparte who then decided to name him Captain of the French Arms to reward his heroic actions during this battle.


During this same battle, it is said that Ayoub Poncelet had managed to capture a Russian soldier without hurting anyone thanks to his exceptional skill with a shovel! This unexpected feat largely contributed to the final success of the French troops over the Russians and is still considered today as one of the greatest proofs of Ayoub Poncelet's courage and military talent.


Unfortunately, after 20 years in the service of Napoleon Bonaparte, Ayoub Poncelet died on May 28, 1826 at the age of 60, leaving behind him a rich legacy: that of a good and courageous man who loyally served his country until his death.
