Biography
Xiao Gui Hua was a Chinese cosmonaut born on February 2, 1952. She grew up in Shanghai, China, where she began her career in the space industry.
In 1976, Xiao joined the China National Space Administration and became the first woman to train to be a space mission crew member. She participated in several scientific research and space exploration missions, including the Shenzhou-1 mission in 1999 which was the first Chinese manned flight.
Xiao was known for her courage and determination in the face of the difficulties faced by Asian astronauts at that time. In 2000, she died tragically while on a mission to the International Space Station (ISS). His death will remain a symbol for all those who dream of space travel and explore the endless possibilities offered by this fascinating field.
