Primo Fabbri, nicknamed the Eagle, was an Italian astronaut born on October 23, 1951. He grew up in a modest family in the Italian countryside and always had the dream of flying. At the age of 18, he enrolled in the Academy of Aerospace Sciences where he graduated in 1972. After receiving his specialized training, he quickly became a test pilot for NASA and participated in several important space missions during the following years.


In 1979, Primo Fabbri became a professional astronaut and made his first space trip in 1981. In the years that followed, he went into space several times and contributed to various important scientific projects such as the development of the solar system and the search for the origins of life in the universe. In 1989, he set off on his longest mission to date: six months aboard the Discovery III spacecraft.


After retiring in 1997, Primo Fabbri devoted himself to younger generations by giving lectures on space travel to school children and scholars around the world. Sadly, Primo Fabbri passed away on August 19, 2019 after a courageously faced long illness. His invaluable contribution to space exploration will never be forgotten by those he inspired during his exceptional career.
